For the year 1915.
VITAL STATISTICS.
POPULATION.
The population of the Borough at the Census of 1911 was
133,487.
The estimated population, according to the Registrar General,
at the middle of 1915, was 142,582.
BIRTHS.
During the year 3,300 births were registered as against
3,436 in 1914, giving a birth.rate of 23.1 per 1,000 population.
Of these 1,654 were males and 1,646 females.
Illegitimate Births.
Sixty.nine of these were registered.
DEATHS.
The number of deaths which took place in the Borough during
the year was 1,145.
Of these 4 were non.residents, and can therefore be excluded.
533 deaths were reported of persons belonging to the Borough
which had taken place in Institutions outside the district.
