FOOD INSPECTION.
The inspection of food is carried out as far as possible by
the Inspectors and myself, but in a Borough of this size there
should be sufficient work for a special Inspector to devote most
of his time to this work.
During the latter part of the year since the outbreak of war
there has been a great demand for meat to supply the troops and
a considerable amount of slaughtering has taken place at the
slaughter-houses in the Borough.
