Anthrax.
One case of this disease was notified during the year. I was
asked to see the case in consultation with a Medical Practitioner
who thought it might be Erysipelas.
There was no doubt in my mind of the condition, and the
patient, a man who was employed at a brush factory in London,
was sent into the London Hospital, where death took place.
Cancer.
122 deaths were registered as due to Cancer, as compared with
107 in the previous year. 89 of these deaths were in persons of
45 years of age and upwards.
The organs most frequently affected in women were the breast
and genital organs, viz. : 14 from the former and 15 from the
latter.
