Resulting from the 4,867 inspections made, 6,769 nuisances
have been discovered and dealt with by the Inspectors, necessitating
the service of 1,216 Preliminary Notices, 92 Statutory
Notices, 15 Water Notices, 301 Dust Bin Notices, and a large
number of Intimation Letters. Of the 6,769 nuisances reported,
4,830 were the result of routine work and 1,939 by house to
house inspection.
The following is a tabulated statement shewing sanitary
defects discovered as a result of inspections made and dealt
with under the Public Health Acts, East Ham Improvement
Acts, and the Council's Bye-Laws for the years 1909-1910:—
