Report on the Borough Isolation Hospital.
It is pleasing to note that during the past year the accommodation
at the Hospital has been greater than the requirements
owing to the still diminishing prevalence of Infectious Disease.
The new Scarlet Fever Block lias not been used for the last
eight months. The Enteric Wards have been used for " Open
Air Treatment " of Phthisis.
One Diphtheria Ward has been sufficient to treat all our
cases of this disease and during the latter part of the year the
other ward was used for Enteric Fever cases.
The cubicles have quite justified their use as Observation
Wards for doubtful cases, and for patients suffering from
double infection.
The following table shows the number of
patients admitted and under treatment during the year and
also the mortality per cent, of completed cases: —
