Mumps was very prevalent during the greater part of the
year and practically affected the entire district. It is many
years since such a number of cases of this disease occurred.
SPECIAL EXAMINATIONS.
The following examinations were made at the office of the
Medical Officer at the Town Hall and reports submitted to the
Committee on each case :—
Boys for Truant and Industrial Schools 37
Mentally Defective Children 7
Teachers examined on appointment 63
Teachers examined for illness 11
Special examinations of children 97
