Scope of Inspection.— The children examined were those
entering school for the first time and those expected to leave
by the end of the year.
It was also found possible to commence the inspection of
children of an intermediate age, and in three schools the
children eight years of age were also examined.
In addition to the above, the Head Teachers were invited to
include for inspection any children whom they suspected to
have either physical or mental defect or concerning whom they
desired advice or information. 336 of these specially selected
children were examined during the year.
