Annual Report of the Chief Sanitary Inspector.
To His Worship the Mayor, the Aldermen, and
Councillors of the Borough of East Ham.
Mr. Mayor and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you my thirteenth
Annual Report upon the work accomplished by the Sanitary
Inspectors during the year ended 31st December, 1907.

Inspection of the Borough and Abatement of Nuisances.—In

investigating complaints lodged, notification of Infectious Diseases received, house-to-house inspections, &c., 4410 primary inspections were made as under:—

These figures do not include the re-inspection of premises
to ascertain if the insanitary conditions discovered at the primary
inspection had been remedied, and that the structural work often
necessary was being efficiently performed. The greater part of
the Inspectors' time is occupied in supervising works in progress
essential to the abatement of nuisances
