A Sub-Committee had previously considered the matter, and
recommended that the work be carried out on the lines suggested
in the above report. The Council, however, decided in view of the
expense that would be incurred, to take no steps in the matter for
the present.
I would here respectfully point out that as the effectiveness
of Medical Inspection is in future to be a factor in determining
the grant, it may not be wise to defer the matter for too long
a period.
Since the foregoing report was presented, the Board of
Education have issued a Schedule of Medical Inspection which
they suggest be used by all authorities, as tending to secure
uniformity in the method adopted. This Schedule is reproduced
below, as it gives a clear impression of the extent and character
of the work.
