Borough of East Ham.
PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT.
Annual Report of Medical Officer of Health for 1904
Town Hall,
East Ham, E.
3rd April, 1905.
To His Worship the Mayor, the Aldermen and
Councillors of the Borough of East Ham.
Mr. Mayor and Gentlemen,
It gives me pleasure ro present to you for your consideration
my fifteenth Annual Report upon the health of the Borough of
East Ham for the year ended 31st December, 1904, and to congratulate
the Council upon the fact that East Ham still occupies a
prominent place as one of the healthiest of the 76 great towns of
England and Wales.
The work of the Public Health Department, which is largely
detailed in this report, has been consistently in progress during the
year, and much work of a permanent character has been performed,
and I here desire to express my appreciation of the loyalty and
devotion of the Chief Inspector and Sanitary Staff in the execution
of their duties.
The corrected Death Rate for the year, viz., 14.4, shows an
increase compared with that of the preceding year, which was 12.6,
but the Borough may still claim to be one of the healthiest of the 76
large towns of England and Wales,
