EAST HAM URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL
Medical Officer of Health's
ANNUAL REPORT, 1898.
Public Offices,
East Ham,
February 1899.
To the Chairman and Members of the East Ham Urban
District Council.
Gentlemen,
I beg to present my Ninth Annual Report upon the health of
the District of East Ham, and in doing so, to congratulate the
District Council upon the fact that in spite of increasing population
with its attendant risks, the District continues to occupy a prominent
place amongst the healthier London suburbs.
Infectious disease was very prevalent during the latter part
of the year, the non-notifiable disease of diarrhcea being conspicuous
in its fatality during the months of August and September.
