No marked epidemic prevailed except measles early in the
year, but this was of the non-malignant type; also much has been
done to improve the general sanitary conditions of the houses.
Details of these matters will be found in subsequent parts of the
report.
I have to express with pleasure my thanks to the Chairman
and Members of the Council for the considerate manner in which
my suggestions and recommendations have been received.
Also my indebtedness to Mr. York the District Surveyor and
Mr. Lewis, Sanitary Inspector for their valuable assistance.
