One case of Scarlet Fever was removed
privately to Stanmore.
The case of Enteric Fever was removed to
University College Hospital by the patient's
employer.
Three patients were sent to the Hospital
supposed to be suffering from Scarlet Fever, but
were shortly afterwards dismissed when it was
proved that they were suffering from German
Measles.
There is every reason to hope that the trouble
in connection with Isolation and Infectious cases
will soon be disposed of, as I understand that a
suitable hospital is to be erected immediately by
the Joint Hospital Committee, with all modern
appliances and requisites.
Disinfection of Rooms and Schools is
carried out by spraying Formaldehyde on the
walls and bulky articles of furniture, &c., and the
destruction of clothing and bedding where
necessary. This is done under the immediate
supervision of the Sanitary Inspector, and appears
to answer well, for no second cases of infectious
disease occurred, after disinfection, within the
ordinary period of incubation.
There is no steam disinfector in the District,
nor at the Isolation Hospital.
