HEALTH VISITOR'S REPORT FOR THE
YEAR 1911.
Sir,
I beg to report that during the year ended 31st
December, 1911, I have registered the notifications of
886 births, and in 662 cases I have visited the homes.
The total number of visits and re-visits during the
year was 1,334.
There were 46 deaths amongst the infants visited,
and of these 23 were artificially fed.
Eleven died from premature birth, &c., before I
visited the homes, and nine deaths occurred amongst
infants under one year of age who were born outside
the district.
Of the total number of children under one year of
age ten deaths occurred in various institutions outside
the district.
During the year, thirty-one notifications of stillborn
births have been received.
As you are aware, 72 cases of phthisis and tuberculosis
have been notified, and 43 of these have been
enquired into and reported upon. The majority of
the patients have been re-visited from time to time.
Yours obediently,
J. CRU1CKSHANK,
Health Visitor.
