The number of admissions into the Hospital
since date of opening is upwards of 900.
With regard to the number of patients admitted
during the year, there were 78, compared with 126
for 1910 and 122 for 1909.
Scarlet Fever 56 (13 adults, 43 children).
Enteric „ 5 (all adults).
Diphtheria 17 (4 adults, 13 children; one
—being a patient from Slough).

Only 6 Deaths occurred (4 diphtheria, 1 scarlet fever,
and 1 enteric). Most of these patients were in a critical
state on admission. Although there was a decrease in
the number of patients admitted during the year, several
cases were of a severe type of disease and occurred
amongst very young children. As regards diphtheria,
in each case three swabs are taken from both throat
and nose of the patient and submitted to a pathological
examination, one on admission, and two subsequently.
No patient is allowed to leave the hospital until the
result of the examination is negative.
