ANNUAL REPORT OF THE SANITARY
INSPECTOR FOR THE YEAR 1923.
To the Medical Officer of Health.
Sir,—
In compliance with the provisions of the Sanitary
Officers Order, 1922, I beg to submit the following" statement
showing the number of inspections made and the
work carried out in the administration of the Public Health
Acts, Housing Acts, Bye-laws, etc., in the District during
the year 1923.
DWELLING HOUSES.
The total number of dwelling houses inspected during
the year was 351, of which number, 110 were inspections
made in accordance with the Housing (Inspection of
District) Regulations, 1910. Of the total, 93 houses were
found to be reasonably fit for human habitation and free from nuisance.
The detects discovered during the inspections numbered 1,150, and are shown classified in the following Table : —

DAIRIES, COWSHEDS AND MILKSHOPS.
The number of producers and purveyors of milk on
the registers at the end of the year was 21 : —
