To assist in the early diagnosis of cases, specimens of
sputum are examined bacteriologically at the Wandle
Valley Joint Hospital—free of charge. During the year
Dr. Cave examined 18 specimens.
The Health Visitor paid 31 visits to the homes of
patients notified as suffering from Tuberculosis.
Disinfection at the home is carried out after death, on a
patient's admission to an Institution, and on other occasions
as are necessary.
