The number of bodies deposited in the Mortuary during the year was
328.
31 Jewish bodies were officially "watched." 217 inquests were held in
the Coroner's Court, and 178 post-mortem examinations were made.
The shelter is used for the accommodation of contacts of infectious disease
while their homes are being disinfected. During the year there were 25
persons admitted to the shelter; 12 adults and 13 children.
10 inspections were made during the year to premises subject to the
provisions of the Rag Flock Acts. 2 samples of rag flock were examined
and found to be satisfactory.
There are 19 cowsheds in the Borough licensed to accommodate a total
of 493 cows. During the year, 150 inspections were made to the cowsheds,
but it was only found necessary to serve six notices for defects or nuisances
under the Public Health Act.
271 inspections were made during the year to various offensive businesses
(including poultry slaughter houses) carried on in the borough. 18 notices
were served for minor matters.
