On 15th August, John Wettner, 10, Ellen Place, E.l, was summoned for
failing to abate a nuisance arising from the dirty condition of rooms and
contents at 10, Ellen Place, E.l, in the occupation of himself and family.
He was ordered to abate the nuisance and prohibit recurrence of same,
and to pay 6s. costs.
On 29th August, Franks & Simons, 340, Mile End Road, E.l, were
summoned for failing to abate a nuisance from defective roof and gutters at
9, Salisbury Street, E.3.
The work having been done at the time of the hearing, they were ordered
to pay £2 4s. costs.
On 29th August, C. R. W. Hickman, "The Limes," Chigwell, was
summoned for failing to abate nuisances arising from defective gutters,
paving, etc., at 151, Canal Road, E.3.
He was ordered to do the work within 7 days, and to pay £2 4s. costs.
On 16th September, Mrs. Fanny Franks, 80, Princelet Street, E.l, was
summoned for illegally letting an underground room after a Closing Order
had been made, at 80, Princelet Street, E.l.
She was fined £7, with £3 costs, or 6 weeks imprisonment in default.
On 19th September, M. S. Abrahams, 31, Gee Street, E.C., was summoned
for failing to comply with Council's Notice re no water supply to W.C. at
80, Salmon Lane, E.14.
He was fined £2, with £2 2s. costs.
(This case was first heard on 12th September, and adjourned to 19th
September).
On 23rd September, Rebecca Levy, 1, Plough Street, E.l, was summoned
for keeping fowls in such a condition as to be a nuisance at 1, Plough Street, E.l.
She was ordered to prohibit the nuisance in 7 days, and to pay 10s. 6d.
costs.
On 23rd September, Franks & Simons, 340, Mile End Road, E.l, were
summoned for failing to abate a nuisance caused by defective roof and rainwater
pipes at 43, Plumbers Row, E.l.
