Canal Boats Acts, 1877 and 1884,
Pursuant to the Third Section of the Canal Boats Acts, 1884, the
Metropolitan Borough of Stepney, being the Registration Authority under the
above Acts, has to report as follows with regard to the Execution of such Acts
and of the Regulations made thereunder, and as to the steps taken by them
as such authority during the year 1930 to give affect to the provisions of the
said Acts and Regulations, viz:—
(1) Canal Boats coming within the district are inspected by a Sanitary
Inspector, who receives a sum of £10 per annum for the performance of this
duty. His inspection is irrespective of the examination of Boats made by the
Examining Officer prior to their registration.
(2) The number of Boats inspected in 1930 was 33, and the condition
of the Boats and their occupants as regards the matters dealt with in the Acts
and Regulations was good.
There were no infringements of the Acts and Regulations.
Only one child was found on the boats.
There is now only one boat on the register.
No boats were registered during 1930.
