85 deaths of males and 93 of females, in Christchurch there
were 99 deaths of males and 93 of females, and in Christchurch
Workhouse there were 3 males whose deaths were registered.
Included in these figures are 11 cases in which inquests were held
on strangers found within the district, and 2 of the deaths in the
Workhouse were those of persons belonging to other parishes.

The death rate for the district therefore proves to be 24 66
per 1,000 of the population, and when multiplied by the factor
for age and sex distribution, a corrected death rate of 25.81 is
obtained.
