I subjoin a list of bakehouses, all of which have been
inspected twice during the year, and where necessary, notices
have been served to carry out the improvements, etc., suggested.
There is only one cowhouse in the parish, which is always
kept in good sanitary order.
Systematic house-to-house inspection has gone on steadily
throughout the year, and notices have been served, as may be
seen from the sanitary inspectors' report appended, when
required, with regard to drainage, paving, etc.
Although no case of small pox has occurred during the year,
yet in view of recent legislation it may reasonably be expected
that we shall be visited with an epidemic within the next few
years.

COMMON LODGING-HOUSE IN ST. SAVIOUR.
67, Union Street.—75 beds. These are fully occupied
once a week at least, and have always nearly full complement.
There are only 4 w.c.s, these being underground in a room
adjoining the common kitchen. No improvements have been
made since the L.C.C. have had the control. The ventilation
of the rooms is worse, it being at the present time practically
nil. One room had perforated zinc in place of a glass window
which was covered with a piece of cloth. In most other cases
the perforated windows that we had put in had been glazed.
