SEWERS DEPARTMENT.
EWER STREET.
A new 12 inch low level pipe sewer, 530 feet in length
has been constructed in this street from Union Street to
Lavington Street, together with two manholes. An even
gradient of 1 in 176 was given to the pipes, which were laid
on a Portland cement concrete foundation and jointed in cement.
Junctions have been left in opposite each house which does
away with the practice of breaking open a pipe in the sewer
to insert a connection.
