(g) Erysipelas.—2 deaths were recorded out of 37 cases
notified, as compared with 4 deaths out of a total of 82 cases
notified in the previous year.
(h) Membranous Croup.—1 death occurred out of 3 cases
notified.
(i) Puerperal Fever.—8 deaths from this disease were
registered.
(k) Congenital Syphilis.—7 deaths were recorded from
this disease, as compared with 6 in the previous year. No
doubt these figures do not represent the actual number of cases
primarily due to this disease, as many of the wasting affections
of children, I have every reason to believe, owe their origin to
this malady.
(l) Typhus.— 1 death occuring in an outlying institution
was attributed to this cause, the child was first admitted into a
hospital under the supposition that it was suffering from Measles,
but prior to its death Typhus Fever was diagnosed. I carefully
went into the history of the case and the sanitary circumstances
connected therewith. There was nothing in the surroundings of
the patient and his friends that could possibly conduce to this
disease, and from the fact that the remaining children in the
house from which the patient was removed, contracted Measles
immediately after, it is fair to assume that there was a mistake
in the diagnosis in this instance.
(m) Diarrhœa.—12 deaths were attributed to this disease.
(n) Septicamio.—8 deaths occurred from this disease.
2. Dietic Diskask—2 deaths, in both these instances excessive
drinking was the cause.
8. Constitutional Diseases—
(a) Rheumatism—4 deaths occurred.
(b) Cancer—20 deaths occurred.
(c) Tabes Mesenteria—9 cases occurred, as compared with
11 the previous year.

year.
(e) Scrofula—5 deaths occurred.
(/) Purpura—2 deaths from this cause.
4. Developmental—
