The whole of the Vestry's vans have been thoroughly repaired
and repainted.
The question of providing your own horses and drivers, and
having a central Depot for the work of the Vestry, is still under
the consideration of your Committee.
In consequence of increased responsibilities resting with local
authorities by reason of the new Public Health Act, special
regulations for the removal of refuse have beeb adopted, which will
come into force on the 1st April, this year. An Inspector has also
been appointed whose duties are jointly to superintend the cleansing
of foot ways and courts, and the removal of house and trade refuse.
The scavenging area has been slightly altered by an arrangement
with the Strand Board of Works, that Burleigh Street be
entirely cleansed by the Strand Board, and the portion of Chandos
Street from the Parish boundary to Agar Street, be for the future
eleansed by this Vestry.
