Infectious Disease (Notification) Act, 1889.
In the year 1891 the cases of infectious disease notified in
accordance with this Act numbered 57, against 41 of the previous
year. At Table 9 will be found a classification of these 57 cases,
and the localities wherein they occurred.
Disinfection after Infectious Disease
The disinfection is done as hitherto by Mr. W. G. Lacy, of
Fulham, who performs his work in a most punctual and satisfactory
maimer, well that it very rarely happens that a second case of
infectious appears in the same house in which he has
operated.
In the latter part of the year your Sanitary Inspector and I
made a Visit of inspection to his establishment, situated at Town
Mead road, fulham, close by Wandsworth Bridge, and the admirable
arrangement.*-, order, and method we witnessed left nothing to be
desired. Mr. W. (J. Lacy also disinfects for the following sanitary
authorities s :—1'ulham, Westminster, Willesden, Clupham, Wandsworth,
Battersea, Putney, Streatham and Richmond. During the
year l891 the disinfections numbered 32.
Thee Public Health (London) Act, 1801.
This Act intended for the sanitary administration of the Metropolis,
repeals a large number of former Acts in force relating to the
public health. It, consolidates these with amendments, so instead
of the sanitary authority having to refer to a number of statutes in
the discharge of its duties, thereby causing trouble and confusion,
has this one Act in which to guide it.
The first part deals with nuisances and offensive trades, then as
to smoke consumption. The Act then deals with workshops and
