Union It has been a question whether the deaths in the Edmonton
Workhouse should be included in the rate and I must say not
without reason, for it must be remembered that a great number of
those who die in the Workhouse have been residence there many
years prior to their death, and have therefore piratically ceased to
be parishioners. But I have been informed from the office of the
Registrar-General that these deaths should be taken into account
in computing the death-rate. Had I not included these deaths in
the Edmonton Workhouse, 46 in number in the year 1891, the
death-rate would have been 19.2. The death-rate for London in
the year 1891 was 21.4 per 1,000.
Infantile Mortality.
The mortality of children under one year of age during the year
1891, was at the rate of 102*7 deaths to 1,000 registered births.
Old Age Mortality.
The deaths of parishioners over GO occurring in and out of the
Parish in the year 1891, numbered 115.
53 were from 60 to 70 years of age.

Causes of Death.
Zymotic Diseases.β€”The principal Zymotic Diseases are SmallPox,
Measles, Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Typhoid
Fever, Typhus Fever, Cholera, and Diarrhoea.
The total number of deaths occurring in the Parish from the
above-named disease was 34.This number includes those nonparishioners
who died in the Charing Cross Hospital. After deducting
those non-parishioners, and adding those parishioners who died in
Public Institutions outside the Parish, the mortality due to St.
Marthin- in -the Fields would be 24. (See Tables 5.)
