TREES—CHARING CROSS ROAD AND CIIURCHYARD.
Six new trees have been planted in Charing Cross Road and one
in the Churchyard, to replace the dead ones, at a cost of £910s. The
whole of the trees have also been re-tied and staked where necessary,
at an additional cost of £8 9s. 9c/. The trees are also watered
occasionally in very dry weather.
HYDE PARK CORNER ROADS.
The Vestry's share for the past year of the cost o£ maintaining
the above roads (viz.: one-third of the total cost as provided in the
Ilyde Park Maintenance Act, 1887), amounts to £254 17s. 2d.

CLEANSING SEWERS AND GULLIES.

The Gullies in the parish, (about 420), exclusive of those under the control of the London County Council, have been emptied from time to time and flushed with a solution of manganate of soda and sulphuric acid; the surfaces of all courts have also been flushed periodically at the following total cost—

The sewers in King William Street, Blue Cross Street, James Street, Haymarket, Cranbourn Street, Garrick Street, Long Acre, Strand, Spur Street and Neal Street, have been cleansed and any silt removed, the pipe sewers have been frequently flushed with water through an open hose, at a total cost of £188 0s. 7 d.,beings-
