The birth-rate of the parish for the year 1884
was 22.0 per 1,000 inhabitants.
In London the Births registered in the year 1884
were 137,495, which corresponded to an annual birthrate
of 33.7 per 1,000. On comparing these two
birth-rates it will be observed how low ours is to that
of the whole of London. This circumstance, I believe,
is due to the families of so many of the inhabitants
residing in the suburbs.
