the cost of their maintenance. By a letter dated 4th July,
the Vestry were informed by the Commissioners of Works
that the Government would during the then present Session
introduce a Bill for the purpose of enabling the Metropolitan
Board to determine by what parish or parishes the

Government, and on the 20th March, 1884, it was resolved
that this Vestry should combine with the Vestry of St.
George, Hanover Square, to throw the cost of the roads
upon the Metropolitan Board, and in the event of failure
that the cost should be divided between the two parishes
in the proportions previously stated.
