many instances, the landlords are obliged to employ
persons to cleanse them daily. Upon the whole I am
of opinion that all classes, even the very poorest, are
much more alive to their own interest in supporting
measures suggested for the maintenance of health;
and all are disposed to second our efforts in keeping
rooms and houses in a clean and decent state as a
means of good health to themselves and their
children.
