the House of Lords during the present session, and

A Bill has been brought into the House of Commons,
entitled "The Regent Market (Leicester Square) Bill,"
for the purpose of establishing a retail market for the
sale of meat, fish, and other commodities, in the enclosed
part of the square. The Vestry have passed a Resolution
that this Bill be opposed, and accordingly a
Petition against it has been presented to the House of
Commons, which will be supported in the Committee
before whom the Bill come on for consideration.
The Metropolis Local Management Acts.
During the Session of 1862 the Legislature passed
an Act, entitled "An Act to amend the Metropolis
Local Management Acts." This Act has made many
material alterations in the law. Each Vestryman has
been furnished with a copy of it.
Contracts.
The several Contracts entered into during the
current year will appear at the foot hereof.
Baths And Washhouses.
The Commissioners of Baths and Washhouses, have
furnished a Statement of their Receipts and Expenditure;
and, the same having been duly audited, will be
found annexed.
Since the last Report, the Commissioners have,
with the sanction of the Vestry, who voted the necessary
funds for the purpose, fitted up a portion of the
Laundries, whereby very considerable increased accommodation
has been given to those persons who use that
part of the building.
