REPAIRS TO PUBLIC HIGHWAYS.
The outlay during the past year has been considerable,
especially as regards the carriage-way paving, a large portion
of the streets having been repaired, the majority of which
have been relaid on concrete substratum, thereby increasing
the expenditure, but considerably contributing to their
stability.
The following shows the several sums expended upon the
principal works:—
