DRINKIQVH FOUNTAINS.
There were at Lady-day three Drinking Fountains in
this Parish, one of which is the Shaftesbury Memorial
fountain at Piccadilly Circus, and the other two are situate

LAVATORIES AND SANITARY CONVENIENCES,
PICCADILLY CIRCUS.
During the twelve months ended at Lady-day, the men's
closets have been used by 280,750 persons, the ladies'

the ladies' lavatory by 4,804. No record is kept of the use
of the urinals, for which no charge is made, but they were
resorted to by a very large number of persons during the
year and prove every year that they supply a much-needed

use of the lavatories and conveniences amounted to
£2,400 l1s. 5d., and the outgoings for working expenses to
£990 12s. 8½d. To the outgoings, however, must be added
a proportion of the establishment expenses for supervision
and management.

Vestry's Surveyor for the construction of such
