modifications being made. The Council advanced the
Vestry £10,500, part of the loan applied for upon the terms
that it was taken up at once and repaid with interest at the
rate of 3£ per cent. per annum by equal instalments as to
£4,900 within 5 years, as to £5,100 within 7 years, and as
to £500 within 15 years, the interest being paid quarterly.
The reason of the deduction of the sum of £350, the
amount required to meet the proposed outlay for alterations
to the Vestry Offices was owing to the delay in furnishing
certain required plans, and the Vestry ultimately decided
that this amount should be paid out of the rate for the
current year. The Vestry also decided early in March last
to apply for a further loan of £8,850 to defray the cost of
the paving works to be carried out during the ensuing
year, and for a loan of £1,700 to defray the cost of constructing
the proposed underground Conveniences and
Lavatories in Great Marlborough Street, particulars of
which will be found in another part of this Report. The
negotiations for this loan were proceeding at Lady Day
