The question of the plural notification of the same case
of infectious disease was brought under the notice of the
Vestry by the Vestry of Roth erhi the, with a view to some
united action being taken to bring the matter to the notice
of the Metropolitan Asylums Board. It appeared from a
report presented to the Rotherhithe Vestry by their
Medical Officer of Health that on more than one occasion
cases had occurred where the same case of infectious
disease had been notified by two or three different Medical
Practitioners, and it was suggested that the Metropolitan
Asylums Board should be requested to allow a single
notification in each complaint to be sufficient, on the
ground that these dual or treble notifications involve
unnecessary cost and are not fair to the parish, as they
make the list of infectious cases appear to be greater than
the actual number of such cases.
