The proposed alterations had not been carried out at the
close of the year to which this report relates.
Disinfector.—The disinfector has been used for disinfecting
bedding, clothing, etc., for parishioneis on 72
occasions compared with 71 in 1892-93 and 57 in 1891-92.
Certain repairs to the Disinfector were carried out during
the year, at a cost of £10.
For the purpose of carrying home clothing after disinfection,
the Vestry purchased a truck suitable for the
purpose at a cost of £18.
Horses.—One of the Vestry's horses (Tommy), bought
by the Vestry some 20 years ago, having been certified by
the veterinary surgeon to be unfit for work by reason of
advanced age, orders were given for the horse to be
slaughtered, and for another horse to be purchased at a
cost not exceeding £80.
Stone yard.—In order to facilitate the lowering and
lifting of goods to and from the new stores in the basement
under the Baths, a crab and lift were obtained from
Mr. J. Stannah, of 20, Southwark Bridge Road, at a cost
of £38 exclusive of builder's work.
A new stoneyard clerk's office has been erected on the
north side of the entrance to the stoneyard, at a cost of
£215. The erection of the office in this position necessitated
the utilisation of the alternative staircase to the laundry of
the Public Baths and Washhouses, to which the Baths'
Commissioners gave their consent on condition that the
Vestry, at their own expense, entered into an agreement to
pay the Commissioners one shilling a year by way of
acknowledgment of ownership, and to maintain and repair
the superstructure in the event of any subsidence resulting
