the 11th November, the site of the obstruction for the
future to form part of the street, and to be maintained by
the Vestry.
In connection with the removal of this obstruction the
Vestry widened the carriageway of Vigo Street, so as to
be available for a double line of vehicular traffic throughout;
paved the western end of the street with asphalte,
and relaid the footway paving to the altered line, at a
total cost of £300.
OVERHEAD WIRES.
In accordance with the Bye-Laws made by the London
County Council under the London Overhead Wires Act,
1891 (referred to in the last Annual Report of the Vestry),
the Vestry in August last called the attention of the several
Companies owning overhead wires in the Parish to the duty
cast upon them of furnishing the Vestry as the Local
Authority with particulars of all their overhead wires and
of the penalty which they wero incurring by withholding
the particulars so long after the date specified in the Byelaws.
In response to this application the Vestry received
particulars from most of the Companies owning wires, but
considerable difficulty existed in getting the required particulars
from the Companies in question in consequence
of the large number of overhead wires and attachments
which for some time past have been carried through the
Parish.
As required by the Bye-laws before mentioned the Vestry
have approved the samples of insulators, attachments to
buildings, &c., submitted by the National Telephone Company
and the District Messengers' Service and News
Company.
