the trough system. Excluding the Conveniences at Piccadilly
Circus, the water has cost £48 8s. this year, whereas last
year it was £113 2s. 4d.
A constant supply of water is now laid on to all the
Urinals in the parish except one, and the automatic apparatus
belonging to the latter is worked from a tank fixed above the
urinal, which is filled daily from the Water Company's
mains.
The Urinals in Mason's Yard and Cork Mews have been
reconstructed, the cost of reconstruction, alterations to the
urinals generally, repairs and cleansing being £175 6s. 6d.
The repairs are principally making good damage caused by
persons unknown.
MACHINE BROOMS.
The machine brooms required re-filling with new bass
on the average once in six weeks. The cost of sundry repairs,
re-fillings, hand brooms and brushes for Orderly Boys,
amounted to the sum of £103 0s. 6d.
WATERING.
The street watering throughout the year was carried
out by Mr. William Mead, of Paddington, at a schedule of
prices. The water is supplied by the Grand Junction Water
Works Company by contract.
STAND POSTS.
The cost of repacking the stand posts and executing
sundry repairs was £24 4s. 4d.
