FOOTWAYS.
The following work was carried out on the footways:—
York stone relaid, 67,568 square feet, granite kerb reset,
2,864 feet run. These dimensions include 14,249 feet of
new York stone, and 477 feet of new kerb. The footway,
paving, and kerbing of York Street (West side), Dufour's
Place, and Savile Row (East side), were taken up and relaid,
and also the footway paving of those streets where the
carriageways were repaved with a quiet material.
OLD MATERIALS.
The quantities of old materials sold were:—York
stone, 388 square feet; Pitching, 149 cart loads; Kerb, 10ft
feet run.
REFUGE.
Anew Refuge, lighted with a "Victoria" lamp with
two burners, and provided with a midnight arrangement,
has been fixed in Shaftesbury Avenue opposite the Piccadilly
-Conveniences.
HYDRAULIC MAINS.
During the year the London Hydraulic Power Company
have laid new mains in the following streets, viz.:—
Argyll Place (part), Argyll Street, Babmaes Mews (part),
Beak Street (part), Bridle Lane (part), Coventry Street,
Jermyn Street (part), King Street (Regent Street), Piccadilly
(part), Piccadilly Circus, Regent Street (part), and
Wells Street.
