Daring the 24 years, 1855—1878, inclusive, the deaths from Zymotics were 2,147, being an average yearly mortality of 87. The
Zymotic deaths in the year 1879 were 48—a zymotic death rate of 1.433 per 1000, in a population of 33,500.
