The following table shows the periods of life in which the deaths have occurred in the last three years respectively. It will be observed that the mortality of infants and young children was much diminished during the year 1874.

It is very satisfactory to see that the Zymotic Deaths for 1874 were less than half the yearly average of the
previous twenty years, anil considerably less than in any one year of the previous twenty.
