As my Report has extended beyond its usual
limits, perhaps I may be excused from entering
upon many other subjects which have occupied
my attention, and been the subject of my bi-monthly
Reports during the past year. I am sure it will be
gratifying to you to see the result of your anxiety for
the sanitary welfare repaid by a year of less disease,
suffering, and death, than any since I have had the
pleasure of holding the post of your Medical Officer
of Health.
I have the honor to be,
Rev. Sir, My Lords, and Gentlemen,
Your most obedient humble Servant,
EDWIN LANKESTER.
