16. A copy of these Regulations shall, as soon as
any house is registered, be left with the owner thereof, and
on the premises, by the officer appointed by the Vestry;
and infringement of any one of them shall render the
offender liable to a penalty of not more than Forty
Shillings, and to an additional penalty of not more than
Twenty Shillings for every day during which a default in
obeying such Regulations may continue.
17. The above penalties may be imposed by the
Vestry, and if on demand the person on whom they are
imposed, refuses or neglects to pay the same, such penalties
may be recovered before two Justices in manner directed
by an Act of the 11th and 12th Victoria, cap. 43, intituled
"An Act to facilitate the performance of the duties of the
Justices of the Peace out of Sessions within England
and Wales with respect to summary convictions and orders,"
or any Act amending the same.
18. The powers and duties imposed by these
Regulations upon the Vestry may be exercised by the
Sanitary Committee thereof.
19. These Regulations shall be in force until the
10th day of May, 1868, and no longer.
