BERWICK STREET, PRICES STREET, POLAND STREET.
Portions of the carriageways in Berwick Street,
Princes Street, and Poland Street, have been Re-laid,
and the channels, kerbs, and footways regulated.
Numerous works of more or less importance
have been executed, such as small repairs,
axing overe or roughing slippery places, letting in
coal plates, attending to dangerous places, spreading
ballast in slippery weather or frost, and other
miscellaneous matters which necessarily occupy
a considerable amount of time and attention.
SNOW.
There has been no occasion to take any steps with
regard to the removal of snow. During the last
Winter there was no fall of sufficient importance
to warrant the expenditure of money in extra labour,
although every preparation was made to meet an
emergency.
REGENT STREET.

One new refuge for foot passengers, together
with a stand post for the supply of water has been
