in this as in all other cases it seems to me that they
incur a very solemn responsibility in neglecting
those precautions which have been so often urged
upon them.
MORTALITY IN THE DIFFERENT
DIVISIONS OF THE PARISH.

I take this opportunity of presenting you with a
series of Tables which by a little examination will
at once indicate where the great weight of mortality
presses. You will see here that with little variation
the greatest amount of death falls on the most
populous district, whilst the least amount occurs in
the most thinly populated district. I would
especially call attention to the difference between
the mortality of the Berwick Street Division and
that of the St. James's Square Division. Although
the population is nearly the same, in some years the
death has been nearly double in the one case what
it is in the other.

The following Table will shew the number and nature of these diseases in each division of the parish:-
