Gentlemen,
In accordance with your instructions,
I have prepared a condensed List of the Principal
Works executed by the Vestry during the past year,
from 25th March, 1860, to 25th March, 1861.
The list, as you will perceive, is a very short one,
owing to the small number of absolute works undertaken
during that period, the workmen employed by
the Vestry having been engaged almost exclusively
in small repairs, a detailed account of which would
fill a volume in itself, also in following up and
making good the various portions of paved surfaces
disturbed by the Gas and Water Companies, many
of which require a great amount of attention and
several times relaying. I have simply stated the
gross number of separate places disturbed, though
some, in fact many, places entered as one opening,
