Haymarket. The other public conveniencies in the
parish have of course required attention, and have
been regularly cleansed, but nothing in the shape of
repair, beyond cleansing holes in pipes, &c., has
been done.
Two new Lamps only have been erected by the
Vestry—one which was displaced by the Guards'
Memorial, has been re-fixed in the centre of Waterloo
Place, exactly opposite its previous site, and a curbed
footway and posts placed round it; the other
in Berwick Street, at the corner of Portland Street;
that lamp being also in the place of one removed
(the house to which it was fixed having been
pulled down some years previously,) and which had
not been re-fixed.
The new Seats and alterations in the Vestry
Room appear to be the only addition to the List
of Works executed under my superintendence.
I have the honour to be,
Gentlemen,
Yours most obediently,
A. P. HOWELL,
Surveyor.
