THE FOLLOWING WORKS HAVE BEEN EXECUTED IN
THE ROADS DEPARTMENT.
New York Paying laid in Footways 1640 square yards.
Old Granite Cubes dressed and relaid in Carriageways and
570 square yards.
Old Channels relaid 340 square yards.
New Broken Guernsey Granite in Roadways 2108 cubic yards.
Steam Roller 97 J days.
Openings in Public ways by Gas & Water Companies, and repaired... 1266
Licenses to erect Hoards 52
Courts and Alleys, not being public thoroughfares, Paved at the cost of
the Owners 7
SCAVENGING, WATERING, AND REMOVING OF
DUST DEPARTMENT.
The statement, (on the following page) based on the cost of the Year
ending 25th March last, is my estimate for the cost of this Department
for the ensuing Year.
The quantity of Dust, Ashes, Road Sweeping, and Fish Offal removed
to the Newington Depot, for the Year ending 25th March last, is as follows,
viz:—
Dust 21632 cubic yards.
Road Sweepings 12298 ,, „
SEWERS DEPARTMENT.
The undermentioned Works have been executed in this Department,
viz:—
New Sewers constructed and lengthened 8
House Drains connected into Sewers 31
House Drains cleared by Flashers 37
New Gullies constructed 14
The whole of the Brick and Pipe Sewers in the Parish have been flushed and
cleansed.
