ANNUAL REPORT
MADE TO THE VESTRY
by the
MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH.
FOR THE YEAR ENDING LADY DAY, 1879.
Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen,
In consequence of the death of your late Medical Officer, Dr. Bateson, taking place
on the 27th of February, and not being appointed [until the 8th of April, the annual
report which I now have to present to you must necessarily be very imperfect, as the
materials from which I have to compile it are of course incomplete,
I have however endeavoured to carry out the forms of your late Medical Officer, and I
trust that I shall be able to show you the rise and fall of the death rate during the different
periods of the year.
